The short version
The extension has no developer server, analytics, advertising, account system or cloud converter. The public website uses consent-controlled Google Analytics, described below.
Information the extension handles
When you request an export, ChatKeepr temporarily handles the text, tables, code, message roles, conversation title and—if you enable it—the page address of the supported AI conversation you selected. This information may contain personal communications or other content you created.
ChatKeepr uses the selected content only to create the PDF, Word or Markdown export requested by you. Processing happens inside the browser extension on your device. Conversation content is not retained by ChatKeepr after the in-memory export operation completes.
Information stored locally
Your Include source link preference is stored in extension-owned local storage. Exported files are saved through your browser's downloads system to your configured download location.
Information not collected
ChatKeepr does not transmit conversation text, page addresses, usage events or error reports to its developer or another service. It does not sell user data or use it for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness or unrelated purposes.
Browser permissions
Provider navigation
The AI provider naturally receives ordinary browser requests when you visit its website. If you choose Recent chats, ChatKeepr can—with your optional provider-specific permission—open conversations already stored in your provider account in inactive tabs, read them locally and close the tabs. Those navigations are requests to the AI provider, not to ChatKeepr.
This website
The public ChatKeepr website uses Google Analytics to understand visits, popular pages and general website performance. Google Analytics may process page addresses, referral information, browser and device details, approximate location and website interactions. It does not receive AI conversations, exported files or activity from the ChatKeepr extension.
Analytics storage is denied by default. Google Analytics is enabled through Google Consent Mode and your choice is stored locally in this browser. You can decline without losing access to the website and reopen Analytics settings at any time. Advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalisation remain disabled.
Google processes analytics information under its own terms and privacy controls. Standard infrastructure logs may also be created by the hosting provider for security, reliability and abuse prevention. If accounts, payments or additional tracking are introduced later, this policy and the consent controls will be updated before those features go live.
Limited use and your choices
ChatKeepr's use of information obtained from supported pages is limited to the user-facing export feature and is intended to comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
You control which conversation is opened, which messages are included, whether source links appear and whether provider-specific Recent chats access is granted. Optional site access can be revoked in Chrome's extension settings.
Changes and questions
Material changes to this policy will be published here with a revised date. For privacy questions, use the contact method shown on the support page.
